The short answer: somewhere between about AED 995 a month and AED 6,254 a month, and the difference is not how much weight you lose. It is how much of the hard part you are paying someone else to do for you.
Here is what every piece actually costs in this city, and which ones are worth it.
Medication prices are what UAE pharmacies and clinics publish, as of September 2026. This page is about cost, not about whether any medication is right for you. That is a conversation with a doctor.
Everything in weight loss comes down to five line items.
1. Medication. A GLP-1 like Mounjaro, Ozempic or Wegovy.
2. Food. Either your time cooking it, or a meal plan.
3. Training. A gym membership.
4. Coaching. A personal trainer.
5. Supplements. Protein powder, creatine, and a long list of things you do
not need.
You do not need all five. Each one removes a specific obstacle, and knowing which obstacle is yours is the whole decision.
GLP-1 medications are the biggest single cost and the biggest single lever.
| Medication | Monthly pharmacy cost |
|---|---|
| Ozempic, 0.25mg or 0.5mg | AED 743.50 |
| Ozempic, 1mg | AED 1,146 |
| Mounjaro, any dose | AED 1,734 |
Mounjaro is priced the same whether you are on 2.5mg or 15mg, so the cost does not climb as your dose does.
Clinic packages that bundle the medication with consultations, blood work and follow up run higher. Expect AED 1,800 to 2,500 for a course, and around AED 2,990 a month for a full managed programme with unlimited consultations and body composition scans.
Insurance mostly will not help. When prescribed for type 2 diabetes these are often covered. Prescribed purely for weight loss, cover is limited in most plans, and Wegovy is generally not covered at all.
This is not a decision about money. These are prescription medications with real effects and real side effects, and whether you should be on one is a medical question. The only thing this page can tell you is what it costs.
Food is counted in every option on this page, including the cheapest one. You have to eat either way, and a comparison that treats home cooking as free is how people end up thinking a meal plan costs three times more than it does.
Cooking it yourself. A single person in Dubai spends at least AED 200 a week on groceries, which is about AED 869 a month, and that is the disciplined end. It also costs about 20 hours a month in shopping, cooking and cleaning up. We did the full maths on that in is a meal plan cheaper than cooking.
A meal plan. Our own two meal a day high protein plan is AED 90 a day, which is AED 1,800 for a 20 day block. That block is a month of weekday lunches and dinners. It is currently discounted to AED 1,620, and it can be split into interest free instalments with tabby.
A plan covers lunch and dinner, not everything. You still buy breakfast, snacks, fruit, milk and weekend food, which is realistically another AED 350 a month. So the honest comparison is AED 869 of groceries against AED 2,150 for a plan plus what you still shop for.
Here is the part that matters if you are on a GLP-1. These medications take your appetite away, and a large share of the weight people lose on them is muscle rather than fat. Protein is what protects against that, and it is very hard to hit a protein target when you can only manage a few small meals. A high protein plan is not a luxury on a GLP-1. It is the thing that decides whether you lose fat or lose muscle. More on that in what to eat on a GLP-1.
| Tier | Monthly | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Budget | AED 99 to 200 | 24/7 access and group classes. GymNation starts at AED 99 |
| Mid range | AED 250 to 450 | Multi location access, usually a 12 month contract |
| Premium | AED 450 to 700 | Better facilities and quieter floors |
| Boutique studios | AED 1,000 to 2,500 | 10 to 12 sessions a month of pilates, yoga or CrossFit |
Watch for joining fees of AED 100 to 500, plus maintenance charges and cancellation penalties. The headline monthly price is rarely the real annual cost.
A budget gym and a premium gym build the same muscle. You are paying for the shower quality and how long you wait for a squat rack.
| Type | Per session |
|---|---|
| Entry level or group format | Under AED 100 |
| In gym, experienced | AED 200 to 300 |
| Qualified coach in a prime area | AED 250 to 400 |
| Specialist or private studio | AED 300 and up, some above AED 900 |
Packages bring the rate down. Ten sessions typically works out at AED 200 to 300 each, twenty or more at AED 150 to 250.
Two sessions a week at AED 250 is AED 2,000 a month, which makes a trainer the second biggest line on this page after medication.
What you are actually buying is technique and showing up. If you already train consistently and know what you are doing, a trainer is a luxury. If you have never lifted a weight, or you are on a GLP-1 and need to hold on to muscle, it is the fastest way to stop wasting your own time.
This is where people spend the most for the least.
| What | Price | Worth it? |
|---|---|---|
| Whey protein concentrate, 2kg | AED 150 to 250, lasts a month or two | Yes, if you struggle to hit protein from food |
| Creatine monohydrate | AED 50 to 80 for two to three months | Yes. The most researched supplement there is |
| Caffeine, or just black coffee | Almost nothing | Yes, and coffee does the same job |
| BCAAs | AED 100 plus | No. Pointless if you already eat enough protein |
| Fat burners, detox teas, appetite blockers | AED 100 to 300 | No |
| Collagen, greens powders, testosterone boosters | AED 150 to 400 | Not for weight loss |
A sensible supplement budget in Dubai is AED 200 to 400 a month, and an honest one is closer to AED 100. Whey and creatine cover almost everything that has evidence behind it. That is roughly AED 80 to 150 a month.
Protein powder is food, not medicine. It is a convenient way to add 25g of protein for about AED 8. If you are already eating enough protein it does nothing. If you are on a GLP-1 and cannot face a meal, it is genuinely useful, because a shake is easier to get down than a plate.
Nothing in a fat burner burns fat. The stimulant makes you feel like something is happening. The AED 250 would be better spent on food you will actually eat.
Food is in every row, because you eat either way. The pale grey band in each bar is the grocery money you are already spending today.
| Approach | Monthly | Over 3 months |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Do it yourself. Groceries, budget gym, creatine | AED 995 | AED 2,985 |
| 2. Gym and meal plan. High protein plan, remaining groceries, mid range gym, whey and creatine | AED 2,520 | AED 7,560 |
| 3. Medication, meal plan and gym. The above plus Mounjaro at pharmacy price | AED 4,254 | AED 12,762 |
| 4. Everything. The above plus a personal trainer twice a week | AED 6,254 | AED 18,762 |
A cheaper medical route exists. Ozempic at the lower dose, with the plan, a budget gym and supplements, is about AED 3,113 a month.
Look at the gap between row one and row two. It is about AED 1,525 a month. That is what it costs to stop spending 20 hours a month on food and to know exactly what is in every meal.
Level 1, AED 995 a month. 87 percent of that is food you would have bought anyway. What you are actually adding is a gym membership. The planning, the shopping, the cooking, the weighing, the discipline at 7pm on a Thursday, all of that is on you. It works. It works for lots of people. It asks for roughly 20 hours a month of your time and a level of consistency most people cannot hold for a year.
Level 2, AED 2,520 a month. You are buying back your evenings and removing the single most common failure point, which is not the gym, it is the food. Most people who fail at weight loss do not fail in the gym. They fail at 8pm when nothing is prepped and the app is open.
Level 3, AED 4,254 a month. You are adding appetite control that willpower cannot match. This is the level where results get fast, and it is also the level where the food matters most, because the medication will take your appetite whether or not you have anything protein dense to eat.
Level 4, AED 6,254 a month. You are adding technique, accountability and someone whose job is to notice when you have not shown up. Worth it for beginners, for people carrying an injury, and for anyone on a GLP-1 trying to hold on to muscle.
If you only have a few hundred dirhams a month spare, put it into a gym membership and learn to cook and weigh your own food.
If you have around AED 1,525 spare, put it into food. Food is where almost everyone fails, it is the thing that takes 20 hours a month, and it is the only line on this page that works while you are asleep.
If you are already on a GLP-1, do not economise on protein. You are spending AED 1,734 a month on a medication designed to make you eat less. Spending nothing on what you do eat is how you end up thinner, weaker and disappointed.
If you have money left after that, buy a trainer before you buy a nicer gym, and buy neither before you have sorted your food.
And skip the supplement aisle almost entirely. Whey and creatine, about AED 120 a month between them. Everything else on that shelf is marketing.
| Approach | Year |
|---|---|
| Do it yourself | AED 11,940 |
| Gym and meal plan | AED 30,240 |
| Medication, meal plan and gym | AED 51,048 |
| Everything | AED 75,048 |
These are real numbers and they deserve a plain response. Weight loss in this city can cost more than a car.
It can also cost under AED 1,000 a month, most of which is food you were buying anyway. What you are buying at every level above that is not more weight loss. It is a higher chance of actually doing it, and less of your own time spent making it happen.
This is the only section on this page with CurryFit specifics in it.
Our two meal a day high protein plan is AED 90 a day, AED 1,800 for a 20 day block, currently discounted to AED 1,620. That is a saving of AED 180, it works out at AED 81 a day, and it can be split into interest free instalments with tabby.
What that gets you:
400g bowls with 100 to 120g of cooked protein in every one. That is the number that matters if you are on a GLP-1 or in a calorie deficit, because protein is what decides whether the weight you lose is fat or muscle.
Every meal calorie counted and macro tracked, so you are not guessing.
Olive oil, sometimes coconut oil, nothing else. No reused oil, no vanaspati.
No cream or cashew paste in any gravy, which is worth 100 to 200 calories a plate against a restaurant version of the same dish.
A real clay lined tandoor, so the protein is grilled rather than fried.
No refined sugar anywhere, including the desserts.
Cooked fresh daily, locally sourced, in sustainable packaging. Gluten free and dairy free available as add ons.
Delivered free across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman.
